We love this heart-warming tale about a photographer, Nicholas Nixon who made the decision to document his wife and her sisters through capturing their photograph every year.
When Nixon was just 26 years old he and his wife, Beverly (nee Brown) went to a family gathering where he took a picture of Beverly, known affectionately as Bebe with her three sister, Laurie, Heather and Mimi.
There is now a series of 40 photographs taken every single year. The photographs here, courtesy of Nicholas Nixon can also be viewed as the full series and project at The Museum of Modern Art in New York. The one above is the first that kicked off Nixon’s idea and has documented the changing lives through four sisters faces as they grow older across the decades.
